Santa Bárbara Sistemas S.A. is a leading company in Europe in Armoured Vehicles and Artillery Systems. It is part of the General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) group and has three workplaces in Spain (Trubia, Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville), and Madrid). The main products include tracked armoured vehicles (PIZARRO and its exported variant ASCOD) and wheeled armoured vehicles (PIRAÑA 8x8), as well as artillery systems (SIAC 155/52 Howitzer).
ASCOD vehicles are currently being produced for the British Ministry of Defence’s AJAX Programme, in cooperation with General Dynamics UK; in its CASTOR Engineering Combat Vehicle variant for the Spanish Army, and its version with a 105 mm cannon for the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Around 1,000 units of the different PIZARRO/AS* COD versions have already been or are contracted to be manufactured for various countries.

The specialisation and knowledge of its employees combined with its experience in Systems Engineering and Design and Development Engineering allows GDELS-SBS to successfully continue developing its products. As a result, it has designed and certified every version of ASCOD-tracked vehicle platforms and is currently working on new variants that can incorporate cannons of various calibers up to 120mm.
